Role Overview.

MICRA partner the University of Warwick is building the West Midlands Health and Wellbeing Innovation Network (WMHWIN). With support from the West Midlands Combined Authority, and collaboration across University of Warwick, Bruntwood SciTech, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, and Warwick Medical School, WMHWIN will help in posing challenges and supporting solutions across the health and related landscape.

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and versatile Innovation Hub Manager to join the Innovation Group. Working with partner organisations to create a vibrant, innovative and challenging ecosystem of incubation and acceleration in the Health and Wellbeing arena. Experience in capability building for business (including incubation and / or acceleration of business), enabling scale up and supporting innovative ideas are a must, as well as working with a diverse range of stakeholders. In this exciting new role you will be hands on, designing and delivering an inspired programme of activity, and mentoring and supporting cohort groups on their business growth journey.

Job Specification.

JOB PURPOSE

Working with partner organisations (University of Warwick, Bruntwood SciTech, UHCW) to create a vibrant, innovative and challenging ecosystem of incubation and acceleration in the Health and Wellbeing arena. Creating challenge led programmes for SMEs, corporates, academia, health organisations and industries to improve the health and wellbeing of the region and deliver new products businesses and services through inspiration, education and incubation.

This role will utilise existing and new networks and organisations to build and develop relationships with all stakeholders across the region, ensuring the best possible match of resources and expertise to new developments. Hands on too, the role will provide mentoring and business support for cohort groups.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead and manage the development of the WMHWIN facilities and programme to connect corporates, SMEs, NHS and other health related organisations, academics, and educators in an ecosystem of Health and Wellbeing. This network and facility will provide the tools to develop and deliver the inspiration, education and incubation programme.

2. Create and manage a process for designing challenges and programmes – including recruitment to cohorts in the wellbeing arena, support and education programme, and ensuring relevant involvement from partners in the programme. The challenges should be health focussed and encourage high quality applicants across a wide variety of sectors in the region

3. Develop and deliver a programme for each cohort including:

• Needs analysis and mapping of support for members
• Action planning for cohort
• Motivating and action planning with members
• Developing a programme of events and sessions appropriate for cohort and individuals – timetabling and managing process as appropriate
• Liaise with members of the ecosystem to source support and expertise for cohort
• Mentor and support businesses in their actions
• Manage and support sprint activities
• Support and coaching within area of expertise

4. To manage the set up and operations of the WMHWIN through start up and growth phases, including liaison with facilities leads on all sites, creation of digital and physical processes and programmes.

• Set up and deliver effective monitoring and evaluation of programme activities to update stakeholders and funders on progress and achievements.
• Manage and track budgets relative to programme delivery
• Liaise with University of Warwick operations team to provide effective marketing, communications and PR to publicise events and successes.
• To engage in bid writing and funding opportunities to enable the continued success and growth of WMHWIN

Essential Criteria

  • Substantial experience in capability building for business, including incubation and / or acceleration of business, enabling scale up and supporting innovative ideas. (a, c)

  • Experience within a health and wellbeing sector or associated sector (tech, lifesciences, data, care) (a, c)

  • Budget monitoring and project administration / management / reporting experience (a, c)
