To help overcome the barriers students and recent graduates face gaining work experience during the Covid-19 public health emergency, investment firm Blackfinch Ventures have launched #isolationintern, an online platform advertising internships that can be conducted virtually.
They intend for the platform to link start-ups seeking new staff, thinking and talent with those starting out on their career journey, at a time when traditional recruitment avenues are closed through necessity.
Blackfinch’s Director of Ventures Dr. Reuben Wilcock describes the scheme saying:
The “intern [pay] rates are all above the National Minimum Wage and the modest listing fees are donated in full to charities that help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access the best universities.
And some brilliant partners have got behind Blackfinch on this one – Mercia, Nexus, Clarendon, Breed Reply, Development Bank Wales, Shakespeare Martineau and universities including Oxford (CompSci dept), Southampton, Bath and Lincoln.
So if you are a founder looking to find the best talent to supercharge your product, or a student or researcher looking to work with top tech start-ups then check out #isolationintern today.”
Whether you are a start-up seeking additional hands or an internship seeker looking for experience, the #IsolationIntern platform can be accessed here.
